Job Summary

Create, revise, and review preliminary kitchen layouts (PKLs) in support of new store development and remodel initiatives across multiple brands for both company-owned and franchisee-developed projects. Will also review exterior elevations, and special projects for the Architecture & Design department. The position interacts primarily with Architecture & Design leadership, construction managers, real estate managers, franchisees, outside consultants.  

Responsibilities

  • Create preliminary kitchen layouts (PKLs) for traditional and non-traditional venues (in-lines, end caps, conversions, etc.) for multiple brands. 30% 
  • Review PKLs, PSLs and Exterior elevations submitted by outside consultants for multiple brands. 40% 
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with multiple internal matrixed partners and outsourced architects and consultants. 10% 
  • Accurate record keeping within Development tracking system. 10%
  • Prototype design development. 10%

Education Requirements

Minimum 

  • 2 Year / Associate Degree Required minimum  associate degree in architecture, interior design, or other related field 

Preferred 

  • 4 year / Bachelor’s Degree Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, or other related field 

Experience Qualifications

  • 2+ years of applied work experience in a related field preferred 

  • 2+ years producing technical drawings in a relevant CAD

     and SketchUp software systems

  • 2+ years of experience in restaurant or retail architecture, construction, or store design preferred 

Required Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

  • Strong technical AutoCAD proficiency to support production of development documents 

  • Revit proficiency a plus 

  • Ability to apply knowledge of architecture principles to achieve successful outcomes in store designs that ensure compliance with established brand standards 

  • Capable of setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple projects in a multi-brand, fast-paced, and changing environments 

  • Ability to successfully create or review PKLs, PSLs and Exterior Elevations for New Restaurants, remodels and refreshes. 

  • Highly motivated and the ability to work as team player  

  • Ability adapt and learn multiple brand standards  

  • Ability to interface and maintain excellent professional relationships with a variety of audiences including franchise partners, internal construction and real-estate teams, outsourced consultants. 

  • Restaurant or retail concept design development and execution 

  • Proficient in reading and understanding architectural, structural, mechanical, and technical engineering documents 

  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule 

  • PowerPoint/Word/Excel proficient 

  • Workflow management software such as Lucernex/ProCore a plus 

Travel Required

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 5%
