RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages the day-to-day insurance program activities for Inspire Brands. This includes overseeing the submissions for insurance renewals, as well as maintaining the relationship with broker(s) and fulfilling any insurance-related requests.
- Works with the Manager, Risk Programs, and Finance teams to compile budgets and complete monthly reserve analysis for workers’ compensation and general liability claims.
- Evaluates risk and claim data to identify opportunities that will support Risk Management’s recommendations to help manage insurable risks.
- Provides updated claim and financial data to actuaries to update ultimate loss reserves quarterly.
- Responsible for overseeing the design, assembly, and distribution of the Risk Management Period Reports.
- Reviews and submits insurance premiums and other insurance related costs for designated brands.
- Works with third-party claims administrator(s) to carry out program initiatives, including identification and correction of data and financial discrepancies.
- Manages Texas Non-Subscription program relationships and oversees claims.
- Reviews insurance binders, policies, and endorsements for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensures that all major catastrophic property claims exceeding the deductible are managed through resolution.
- Tracks status of management liability claims and bordereau reporting, as well as facilitates the relationship between Inspire’s legal team and the insurance brokers and carriers.
- Reviews insurance provisions in third party contracts and leases.
- Assists with due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
- Supports the Risk Management department as needed on risk-related projects.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree in Risk Management or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as underwriter, insurance broker, or in a corporate risk management department.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES:
- Advanced knowledge of insurance policies terms and conditions.
- Strong Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, formula writing, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Effective negotiation skills.
