Inspire Brands is seeking a Senior Director of Procurement to lead a high-impact team and play a critical role in shaping the future of our supply chain strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, results-driven leader to influence one of the most essential functions of our business.
In this role, you will ensure 100% availability of the right products at the best possible cost by directing daily team activities across select categories. You'll lead and inspire a team, manage the sourcing process, assign work, and align efforts with the marketing calendar—all while setting clear goals and being accountable for performance and delivery.
Working closely with the SVP of Procurement, you’ll help shape strategic initiatives that drive our sourcing vision, set purchasing objectives, and define actionable tactics to meet company-wide goals. You’ll also guide cross-functional collaboration, delivering high-value procurement services to internal stakeholders.
Your expertise will help maintain strong relationships with the supplier community to ensure Inspire Brands has a competitive, scalable supply chain—one that meets our growing volume demands, fuels innovation, and delivers best-in-class cost performance. You’ll be responsible for cultivating and sustaining a high-performance team that supports the evolving needs of our dynamic, fast-paced business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enables brands to efficiently and effectively maximize the value they receive from suppliers
- Lead the RFP process, bid analysis and review, contract negotiations, and blanket purchase agreement creation
- Develop/execute purchasing strategies for products, including monitoring macro trends in the supplier base, implementing plans to react, and developing/executing purchasing strategies for products
- Pushes for increased transparency in cost modeling and searches for increased ways for Inspire to partner with suppliers on commodity risk management
- Identify and realize cost-savings and cost-reduction opportunities
- Lead innovation activities to generate a pipeline of projects that reduce costs while not sacrificing quality or creating risk
- Lead team to execute cost savings initiatives to deliver on plan cost savings
- Provides accurate Market Basket (COGS) data and forecasts to brands
- Partners with Inspire Finance on accurate and timely submissions of data and forecasts for team’s categories
- Tracks Market Basket performance and reports on changes to plan
- Minimize risk of supply disruption
- Monitors macro-economic trends to identify potentially supplier issues before they occur
- Creates contingency plans for significant risks
- Builds strategic relationships
- Identify candidate suppliers to be considered for strategic relationships
- Works closely with the supplier community to build relationships that ensure Inspire has a competitive supply chain that meets the volume needs of the business, while providing access to innovation resources, and ensures costs are competitive for our segment.
- Establish strategic initiatives related to sourcing, goals, objectives, and tactics designed to achieve the brands' purchasing objectives
- Builds collaborative relationships with brand leadership teams, culinary, QA, and other Inspire shared services teams
- Monitors purchasing performance
- Leads the design and implementation of measurement tools to evaluate supplier performance
- Drives the supply component of S&OP process and coordinates supplier's production to meet demand
- Leads high high-performing team (Three direct reports, two managers and one director).
- Supervises, coaches, and develops the members of the procurement team.
- Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives
- Ensures quality execution of the performance management process and personal developmental plans
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field
- Master’s degree and professional certification such as CPSM preferred
- 10+ years in supply chain and procurement
- 5+ years of leadership and strategy experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated experience in procurement processes and effective negotiation strategies
- Ability to collaborate and contribute effectively within a team-oriented environment
- Proven leadership skills with a strong track record of achieving results
- Background in the restaurant or food service industry
- Prior experience with protein products preferred
NOTE: This position sits within our Atlanta Support Center with an expectation to be onsite 80% of the time.
