The Senior Director of Finance is responsible for providing overall finance and decision-support and leadership to the ICR (Inspire Company-Owned Restaurants) segment. This leader will guide key financial planning activities, including long-range model assumptions, annual business plans, forecasts, and recurring financial analysis to meet ICR objectives.
Additionally, this leader will serve as a key business partner and thought leader with the ICR leadership team and ICR president by providing financial insights, shaping ICR priorities and strategies.
The Senior Director of ICR Finance will also collaborate closely with the finance leaders across the other segments and corporate finance to deliver ICR planning and analysis activities.
This leader will collaborate with the capital planning team to align ICR leadership expectations on capital outflows within the ICR segment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the annual budget and capital resource planning process for ICR segment. Lead weekly, monthly, quarterly forecasting cycles. Be accountable for accuracy in reporting and assumptions. Make annual improvements in budgeting and forecasting processes. Meet all budgeting and forecasting deadlines
- Lead the activities and output of the company restaurant FP&A function. Responsibilities include employee development, communication, formal performance appraisals, work review and hiring
- Provide business partnership to all functions within the ICR segment teams via financial and business analysis of alternative projects and by providing tools to enable better decisions
- Direct, create, and review the preparation of all reporting, consolidation and ad hoc analyses supporting ICR performance and operational initiatives including sales, food costs, labor costs, controllable costs all aimed at improving performance, profitability and return on investment
- Prepare and present ICR financial results using advanced storytelling skills based on best-in-class materials to ICR president, management committee and board of directors. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all information
- Provide guidance to Inspire Company Restaurant leadership team on how to improve financial and operating results
- Assist in M&A activity for Inspire Company Restaurants as needed
- Provide ongoing assessment of G&A spending and make recommendations to senior leadership regarding potential opportunities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- Preferred: MBA in Business, Finance, or Accounting or certification (CPA/CFA)
- Required: 12+ years FP&A or finance operational experience with a direct role in managing or influencing the P&L
- Required: 8+ years managing teams, providing guidance, performance oversight, and professional development.
- Preferred: Restaurants, retail, or organizations with significant physical store presence
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES
- Advanced analytical, financial modeling and presentation skills with the ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
- Deep experience with financial systems and planning tools
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills. This leader will be entrusted to lead meetings with C-suite; expected to voice and make timely decisions and lead discussions; represents Finance across the enterprise.
- Ability to demonstrate thought leadership and inspire others to innovate and discover creative solutions. This leader will be expected to consistently connect the dots, guiding decision-making and promoting a culture of rigor and transparency
- Capacity to review and challenge assumptions; introducing different ways of looking at the data that can be incorporated into the model; defends outcomes; shares a holistic viewpoint; long-term focus while balancing the risk-reward equation
- Advanced skills in full-cycle accounting and financial statement preparation experience (all three statements)
- Advanced learning agility, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
- Skilled in seeing the big picture and simplifying the complex
- Demonstrated ability to automate, re-engineer processes and challenge the status quo
- Adept at leading other leaders and teams and juggling competing priorities in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment
- Demonstrated ability to drive results, acting as a catalyst for change, leveraging industry best practices
- Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills with ability to prioritize and pivot quickly
- Preferred: skills with data visualization tools, BI analysis, presentation apps and data extraction platforms (PowerBI)
- Preferred: skills with enterprise software, planning software (Oracle cloud ePBCS), financial consolidation software, and relational databases
DIRECT REPORTS
- Independently manages a department which includes teams led by two Senior Managers (Approximately12 team members total)
Note: This role requires working onsite at Inspire’s Global Support Center in Atlanta-GA, with the expectation to be onsite 80% of the time.
