RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, evaluate, and provide Risk Management recommendations which help to better manage the Company’s business risks while minimizing the Company’s overall cost of risk
  • Complete insurance applications and compile exposure data to assist brokers in accurate development of insurance submissions
  • Collect updated claim and financial data and work with actuaries to update ultimate loss reserves quarterly
  • Work with Senior Manager, Risk Programs and Accounting to complete monthly reserve analysis for workers’ compensation, general liability, and auto liability claims
  • Responsible for review, payment, and tracking of all insurance premiums, claim reimbursement, and third-party administrator fee invoices
  • Review all insurance binders, policies, and endorsements for accuracy and completeness and organize these in the Risk Management SharePoint site
  • Compile exposure data and work with insurance companies to complete casualty premium audits annually
  • Review insurance provisions in third party contracts and leases, as well as assist with due diligence for mergers and acquisitions
  • Assist in preparation of the annual Risk Management budget
  • File applicable reports and remit workers’ compensation premium payments for the monopolistic and self-insured states
  • Provide company personnel with required insurance documentation (certificates of insurance, auto id cards) from broker/insurer upon request, as well as manage the certificate tracking program
  • Serve as liaison for third party Risk Management vendors

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Minimum: Bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred: Degree in risk management & insurance or finance
  • Preferred: 3+ years working as underwriter, insurance broker or in a corporate risk management department

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

  • Advanced knowledge of insurance policies terms and conditions
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, formula writing, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • CPCU and/or ARM professional designations preferred
