The Manufacturing Business Consultant has responsibility for between 20 and 30 highly complex Central Manufacturing Locations (CML’s). These CML’s are responsible for supplying donuts to Dunkin’ restaurants within the positions region. The Manufacturing Business Consultant role is to uphold the standards and reputation of the brand while enhancing operational excellence and franchisee profitability. The incumbent will provide leadership through effective business planning, continual evaluation and coaching, and build effective relationships through mutual trust and respect. They will also lead all operations related aspects of the new CML opening process starting with the project kickoff through post opening assessments. They will use operational assessment tools to evaluate and assist franchisees in maintaining Dunkin' standards to improve food safety, product quality and profitability. This individual acts as a coach and manufacturing leader throughout their assigned portfolio of CML’s.
Manufacturing Business Consultants are responsible for an assigned portfolio of franchisee or 3rd party owned CML’s. They collaborate with CML franchisees and/or ownership to set and achieve goals for their CML operations. To accomplish this, Manufacturing Business Consultants will focus on coaching and influencing CML franchise and ownership organizations in their delivery of a consistent and safe brand experience.
An ideal candidate would live in Connecticut, Massachusetts or Rhode Island or would be willing to relocate to one of these states.
Day to Day Accountabilities:
Driven passion for quality donuts and bakery products
Key liaison with field team members creating a positive environment for all feedback regarding quality, availability, creativity, process and franchisee relationships through active connections with the local field operations team
Advises CML owners in the implementation and execution of Dunkin' tools, processes, and systems
Ensures operating systems and training discipline are in place within each facility
Conducts operational and food safety audits while coaching towards improvement
Evaluates business economics such as the cost per dozen through use of the Standard Cost Model, identifies roadblocks to controlling production costs, and takes appropriate action for solving issues
Works with CML owners on new product introductions and new CML openings
Collaborates with cross-functional field employees to ensure CML strategy, tactics, and execution is aligned with brand objectives
Manages personal expenses, follows all policies and required procedures, and documents all franchisee interactions
Position expected to be in production facilities 80% (4 days a week) while coaching, assessing and supporting CML owners within their manufacturing environment
Education/Experience:
- An unmatched passion for results
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of manufacturing and/or restaurant/retail management experience. QSR experience a plus
- Food Safety certification such as ServSafe, AIB Food Safety Basics or equivalent
- Knowledge of donut/bakery production techniques/equipment a plus
- Ability to interdependently develop strategic and tactical plans. Experience in solving business problems
- Problem solving skills to remove obstacles, solve problems proactively; conflict resolution, mediation, negotiation and influence.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), auditing and production manufacturing software
- 3rd shift work and late nights may be required on occasion

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
Position is 20% performed from an internal home office environment and 80% performed in a manufacturing and/or outdoor environment. Approximately 80% travel will be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch. While performing this job the employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time in a restaurant, manufacturing and/or outdoor environment.
Salaried
$100,000 - $120,000
The salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual placement within this range will vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, and location.
