To execute and maintain a program designed to perform selected physical, chemical and sensory tests, against product specifications to determine compliance, document results and share detailed reports with product category managers. In addition, this position is responsible for ordering, receiving, product storage management, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and setting up product Brand specific review meetings.
This roles sits onsite in our Atlanta Support Center 100% of the week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform selected physical, chemical and sensory evaluations of food products at established frequencies, or as required.
- Conduct formal product evaluation cuttings with key team members within the organization.
- Coordinate ordering, delivery, receipt, storage management, preparation, and cleanup and organization of workspace (must be capable of lifting boxes up to 50 lbs. in weight). Communicate standards to designated distributors which will ensure that samples are obtained at proper frequencies and in proper condition
- Perform statistical analyses on product testing results. Prepare reports of the analytical and evaluative results in a timely manner.
- Manage product receiving, storage and inventory weekly
- Notify applicable QA Category Manager promptly when results are unacceptable.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-Year/Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or Chemistry, with coursework in Microbiology
- 2+ years of work related experience to this position
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES
- Proficient with PC and its applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, charts and graphs, database, photo conversion, and Internet in a Windows environment.
- Requires the ability to perform a variety of laboratory procedures of physical, chemical and sensory analyses.
- Requires a thorough knowledge of statistics, and the ability to interpret and report the results.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in presenting to large groups.
- Must have project management skills, handling complexity and maintaining flexibility to departmental demands.
- Must be detail orientated and have strong organization skills.
- Requires team interaction and collaboration skills.
- Some travel required.
- Non-Remote Position. Monday – Friday required in office.
DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY
- Requires critical thinking skills to disposition products and supplier performance based upon analytical and physical evaluations.
- Requires the ability to make decisions on sample frequency, scheduling evaluations, and maintaining a testing calendar.
- Manage QA Lab within the Inspire Innovation Center.
