The Manager supporting Arby’s U.S. Franchise will own P&L management for the segment, including budgeting/forecasting, reporting, analyzing, and communicating financial information for the brand leadership team. In this role, the Manager will provide overall financial leadership to the Arby’s U.S. team by ensuring timely and accurate reporting and analysis, projecting sales/revenue and planning Ad Spend, creating in-depth financial modeling to empower data-driven decision making, actively working with AR and cross-functional teams on bad debt analysis, and coordinating with various groups within the organization including ICR and Shared Service groups to best support the brand’s needs. The Manager will create and own processes, work independently, have the ability to challenge and to follow through on complex issues. The position requires direct interaction with senior brand leaders and key franchisees, and the individual will be the key business partner responsible for consulting risks and opportunities to drive the best business decisions for the brand.
This position sits within our Atlanta based Global Support Center with an expectation to be onsite 80% of the time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the accurate and timely preparation of the budget, monthly/quarterly forecasts, and proactive analyses for Arby’s brand as well as AFA (marketing fund).
- Lead in the preparation of presentations related to Arby’s financial results and plans for the brand’s Senior Management (Budget, forecasts, weekly forecasts, quarterly BOD/creditor presentations, monthly Business Summary etc.). Ensure the accuracy of information and confirm that outputs meet our very high standards.
- Lead ongoing assessment of current G&A opportunities and efficiencies making recommendations to Arby’s Finance leadership, Arby’s Brand President and Arby’s Leadership Team regarding potential opportunities to influence results.
- Manage revenue projection, monitor and analyze effective rates, and provide planning guidance for Marketing initiatives and Tech Fee.
- Manage the activities and output of one or more (Sr.) Financial Analysts. Responsibilities include employee development, communication, formal performance appraisals, and project management.
- Manage and operate financial planning tools including but not limited to Budget and Forecast tool as well as other enterprise applications.
- Manage the development of brand initiatives to improve management decision making, such as benchmark reporting, comp unit analyses and banded comparisons.
- Prepare and support quantitative and qualitative analyses in the evaluation of potential brand opportunities as requested by Development or Finance management. Analyses may include investment return metrics, development programs and pro forma modeling.
- Understand, manage, and configure pre-existing models, and create new complex Excel spreadsheets and models to support the development of the Budget, Long Range Plans and updated financial forecasts.
- Provide recommendations to management.
- Partner with Accounting and other Finance and shared service teams as a financial resource for projects and initiatives.
- Create ad hoc reporting as requested.
Connectivity and Key Interfaces
- The individual must interact and maintain relationships with senior leaders on the Arby’s brand team, as well as throughout the Inspire Brands organization. The individual must also be results-driven with a sense of urgency, has the ability to perform successfully in ambiguous situations, or with incomplete information. The ability to compile sound business recommendations with limited information will be required often. Ability to challenge and influence processes and to educate cross functional partners on financial ramifications at all levels of operational execution is critical to the success of this role.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related field. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive finance experience and relevant work experience in Corporate Finance. 1-3 years of managerial experience.
- Ability to effectively multi-task projects with competing priorities; make decisions under pressure and work under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively mine data and draw relevant results on business performance coupled with the ability to provide sound recommendations for improvement.
- Self-starter with ability to anticipate issues and proactively provide creative solutions.
- Knowledge of P&L and Balance Sheet relationship & management. Advanced Knowledge in Finance and Accounting concepts (i.e., GAAP).
- Advanced MS-Office skills, specifically with respect to Excel and PowerPoint.
- Data Modeling, Analytics, and Visualization Tools.
- Proficient understanding and application of cash flow analysis tools and methodologies (NPV/ ROI / Breakeven, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting systems (Smartview, Oracle Applications, including Business Intelligence (BI), EPBCS, & Power BI a strong plus.
