Design & Engineering Innovation Analyst

The Analyst supports strategic efforts related to food service equipment integration, operational modeling and kitchen innovation as applied to all brands in the corporate portfolio. Candidates work with a lead Manager to execute functional requirements, detailing, modeling, capacity measurement and collaborative support of enterprise initiatives. Proficiencies in space planning, CAD drafting, attention to detail and an eagerness for learning are required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design and Engineering (Drafting)
- Supports the development of new concepts and operational layouts
- Executes detailed drawings for review in preparation for manufacture
- Assists in the review of drawings from 3rd party manufacturers for standards compliance
- Builds component blocks (2D and 3D as needed)
- Engaged in learning specific nuances of each brand
Operations Support and Prototyping
- Supports planning, development and execution of operational mock-ups through component design and mild fabrication or construction
- Contributes to throughput studies and simulations related to build and team member activities
- Committed to learning operational standards for each brand
Standards Development
- Supports the effective communication of operational design standards to internal and external partners through written and graphic documentation
- Applies common methodology to coordinate standards across all brands
- Supports the building and maintenance of equipment and manufactured component databases
Collaborates with Brand and Internal Operations Partners
- Liaises with Brand Experience Managers on problem solving
- Provides detailing and engineering support for enterprise initiatives
- Works with brand and internal operations partners on non-standard kitchen applications
- Assists with custom fabrication specifications with external partners
Communication & Presentation
- Communicates plans effectively to internal partners and Innovation leadership
- Provides support for strategic meetings involving internal and external leadership partners
Education Requirements
Minimum
Associates Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Drafting
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Design / Architecture field
Years Of Experience
- 0-3 yr QSR or Fast Casual Brand related focus
- 0-3 yr Restaurant or Hospitality Industry Design
- 0-3 yr Equipment Manufacturing
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES
- Developing ability to read, understand and model restaurant plans and kitchen adaptations
- Proficiency in graphic illustration and detailed communication
- Developing expertise in 2D CAD modeling (AutoCAD) and specification development (3D / Revit preferred)
- Knowledge of computer software related to communication, organization and project management
- Developing knowledge of space planning, restaurant design, kitchen equipment and restaurant operations
- Willingness to learn industry regulations and standards
- Willingness to learn data analytics and methods of assessment and validation
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment with managerial supervision
Travel Required
- Less than 10% as needed only
