RESPONSIBILITIES

Legal Franchise Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing guidance and counsel with respect to applicable international and domestic laws, regulatory matters and organizational policies and procedures

  • Handle transactional matters such as negotiations and preparation of a variety of franchise and CPG-related agreements

  • Ensure compliance with franchise-related agreements (defaults and terminations), policies and procedures

  • Preparation and review of franchise sales and development materials such as the renewal and amendment of Franchise Disclosure Documents, review and consultation of development advertising, franchise presentations, training and other franchise communications

  • Assist portfolio Franchise Operations and Development teams with franchise deals, issues and reporting responsibilities

           

General Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between the legal and internal business teams, including attending meetings, responding to inquiries, making presentations and conducting training, and work with cross-functional business units such as supply chain, data privacy, trademarks, and business development.

  • Develop and continually improve templates, processes and procedures to maintain a streamlined, proactive approach to managing franchise legal compliance and contracts

  • Perform other general legal and/or business duties and functions as may be assigned or required by business needs

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • JD Degree

  • 4+ years of experience with providing advice and counseling on franchise and CPG transactions, legal compliance, and regulatory matters to various stakeholders 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of, and competence in advising and supporting diverse clients with respect to all aspects of franchising and CPG

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite

  • Good written/verbal communication, drafting and negotiation skills in interfacing with business personnel, entrepreneurs and franchisees

  • Ability to successfully form business relationships with franchisees and/or licensees and interact with varied individual skill sets

  • Strong business acumen, problem solving skills and legal judgement

  • Exceptional customer focus, approachability, organizations skills and ability to consistently prioritize, coordinate and satisfy numerous competing demands and successfully achieve deadline driven results and effectively achieve business objectives

  • Proven ability to be open to change and agile in a dynamic environment with a strong sense of urgency

  • Limited travel may be required
