Purpose of the Position:
Assists category management for Baskin-Robbins U.S. core and existing product lines. This role assists in the execution of product launches category programs and tactics for core and existing product lines to drive sales and profit for an iconic brand. The Category Management Assistant Manager collaborates with the Category Management team to define product marketing objectives and strategies for the upcoming year and beyond.
Responsibilities:
Assists the execution of product launches and category programs for core and existing categories
Supports the successful execution of product launches and category programs by collecting information for and drafting readiness materials, testing materials and communications.
Participates in category menu and pricing strategies, drafts and provides inputs for culinary and creative briefs based on ongoing performance, competition, macroeconomic trends, and consumer insights.
Evaluates the product positioning to ensure the story comes to life across all marketing assets and readiness materials.
Partners with the Manager and Associate Managers of Category Management and team to execute against product marketing objectives and strategies
Supports product focused programs to drive sales and traffic grounded in a compelling business case, including sales and profit forecasts and franchisee profitability evaluation.
Assist with the development of the brand product calendar and ad-hoc projects and presentations to support the Director of Category Management & Culinary Innovation and Baskin-Robbins Marketing team.
Collaborates with cross functional teams
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as Culinary Innovation, Brand Experience, Integrated Marketing Communications, Restaurant Excellence, Supply Chain, POS, Franchisees and others to develop and launch products.
Requirements:
4 Year Degree Preferred in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
1+ Years of relevant experience in marketing or category management or related field. Restaurant industry experience preferred.
Experience in brand marketing or similar marketing role preferred
Experience with the marketing mix (4 P’s) and understands marketing principals and strategy
Experience with new product development preferred
Has the ability to think strategically and creatively
Ability to collect and synthesize information, making it relevant, understandable, and actionable for key stakeholders
Communication and presentation skills. Strong PowerPoint skills would be advantageous.
Ability to communicate and build relationships to enhance partnership.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, prioritize and be detail oriented
Self-starter personality who can operate with some supervision
Ideal candidate has an inquisitive nature and a passion for learning and solving problems
Passion for food/ice cream
Ability to be exposed to food allergens.
